Hi, my name is Danev Manikonda, and I am a 17-year-old high school junior (11th grade) pursuing a future in Computer Science. I founded TeamEcoCheckr (Non-Profit Organization) because I wanted to use technology to solve a problem that affects all of us—waste management and its impact on the environment.
I’ve always been curious about how things work, from building small coding projects to exploring how technology can create positive change. When I noticed how confusing recycling and composting rules could be, I knew I could build a solution that makes sustainability easier for everyone. That’s how the idea for The EcoCheckr was born.
At TeamEcoCheckr, we believe that sustainability should be simple. Improper waste disposal harms the environment in many ways—plastic pollutes oceans, food waste in landfills releases harmful greenhouse gases, and valuable recyclables are lost forever.
Our mission is to empower communities with the tools to reduce waste and protect our planet. With the EcoCheckr app, anyone can scan their trash and instantly learn whether it should be recycled, composted, thrown away, or disposed of as e-waste.
By turning everyday actions into opportunities for change, we’re working to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
